Preston Manor School is looking to recruit an experienced HR Manager (CIPD qualified) to manage and develop the school's HR services. Applicants should have extensive broad-based HR Manager experience with knowledge of HR legislation needed to support HR policies and processes. 

The HR Manager is a key member of the Support Services Management Team; shaping the strategic direction of school administrative services.

The HR Manager must be a driver and advocate for change through robust HR advice and employee engagement. You will develop and deliver business interventions, contribute to project delivery and provide coaching to optimise organisational performance.

The successful candidate will have in-depth working knowledge of:-

§ Teaching and non-teaching conditions of employment and service

§ Managing attendance, capability, grievance and disciplinary casework

§ Developing HR strategy

§ HR Data analysis and reporting 

§ Job evaluations and Restructures

§ Continuous Professional Development

§ Working as a trusted advisor to members of the Senior Leadership Team

Excellent organisational skills and a flexible working attitude are essential for the role. You will be confident in your approach and an independent thinker with an awareness of when you need to adapt your approach. Ability to multi-task and prioritise work where a high degree of diplomacy, confidentiality and tact is essential as is an understanding of the importance of safeguarding within school environment. 

Evidence of problem solving, successfully managing change initiatives, a high level of numeracy and attention to detail is required. Line Management and pension scheme experience are desirable. Applicants with a background working within an educational setting (preferably a Secondary Academy) will also receive favourable consideration.

The post has line management responsibility for two members of staff, reporting to the Finance & Business Manager and requires a high degree of professionalism.

The school is situated within sight of the iconic Wembley Stadium, and provides access to all that Wembley has to offer. The school benefits from fantastic links both through public transport and by car. It is a short 10 minute walk from Wembley Park and Preston Road Underground Stations and a 10 minute bus journey from North Wembley Station. The Metropolitan, Jubilee and Bakerloo lines as well as the London Overground/Network rail are within easy reach of the school. Central London locations can easily be reached within 20 minutes from the school. The school is also accessible to major motorways (M25, M1, M40 and A40 etc.).

Preston Manor School is a mixed, non-denominational, all-through state school with academy status, based in Wembley, north-west London, for children aged 4-18. It is a member of the family of Co-operative Trust Schools. It is a large school with approximately 1,900 pupils. Situated within a multicultural community, the school offers additional support for pupils who speak English as an additional language. Diversity and tolerance is a key message in its ethos.
