Humanities Curriculum Leader (KS3)

We are looking for an exceptional Geography, History or Religious Education Teacher to take a lead in the teaching of all three subjects in the first important years of Wren Academy Enfield.

Working in partnership with subject specialists from Wren Academy Finchley, the successful candidate will be given the opportunity to lead a small team of committed teachers in developing the Humanities curriculum of the new school.

As the new academy grows the successful candidate will then become head of either Geography, History or Religious Education as additional middle leaders are appointed. The increase in student numbers and development of the curriculum will lead to an increased TLR over three years:

• 2020/2021 - £2,782
• 2021/2022 - £4,174
• 2022/2023 - £5,565

NB: TLRs will be increase in line with teacher pay awards each year

Having established an excellent academy in the London Borough of Barnet, we now have the opportunity of opening a second school in neighbouring Enfield, which will grow in exactly the same way as Wren Academy Finchley. We wish to appoint a colleague to this post who has:

• Outstanding teaching and interpersonal skills in one or more of the three Humanities subjects.
• A willingness to teach all three Humanities subjects to Year 7 and 8 students.
• A strong academic background with the ability to teach one or more of the subjects to GCSE and A Level.
• Evidence of ambition and a commitment to continuing professional development.
• The desire to maximise the performance of all students and ensure the very best progress for all.
