IB DP teacher English A Lang & Lit

Jac. P. Thijsse College in Castricum, the Netherlands is looking for an experienced English Lang & Lit teacher. Besides excellent teaching, the ideal candidate is supportive of the concept of JPTeaching and the international character of the school. The English department stands for a creative and dynamic approach to teaching. Using your own up-to-date materials in class is strongly recommended as well as contributing to the excellent atmosphere in the department. The English department has a strong collaborative tradition: sharing good lessons and best practices is the general approach. 

Jac. P. Thijsse College is looking for a 0.8 – 1.0 IB DP teacher with a combination of Lang & Lit higher level classes and preparatory classes for the DP. The position is for January 9 – July 31. In their final year the students take the DP exam for English besides the exams for the Dutch vwo curriculum. The language of communication in the school is primarily Dutch though all other teachers speak English too. A basic knowledge of Dutch would be an advantage. 

Candidate profile:

• Experience with the Diploma Programme of IBO

• A Master’s degree in English

• Teaching qualification in line with the standards for the Netherlands

• Permit to work and live in the Netherlands

• An innovative and internationally minded approach to teaching

• A proactive and collaborative attitude

• Ability to use EdTech at school

• Preferably familiar with the Dutch curriculum
