Bishopsgate is seeking a graduate who is keen to launch their career in teaching digital learning to Prep school children in one of the most sought after schools in one of the most beautiful parts of the South East.

We are looking for a new teacher who is keen to innovate in the area of digital learning, and has the desire and the energy to help our pupils lead the way for their age-group in their understanding of the possibilities and technicalities of working digitally into the future.

This is a full-time, permanent role. The School day runs from 08:00 - 16:30 Monday to Friday, and staff members are also expected to volunteer to lead an after school activity in an area of interest to them. 

The ICT teacher will be based in 'Upper School', teaching children from Year 3 to Year 8.

The ideal candidate will be able to offer a second teaching subject, in addition to ICT, and/or may have an interest in drama, music or sport.

Or teachers aim to inspire pupils through the employment of a wide variety of the best and most up-to-date teaching and learning techniques. The day-to-day tasks involved in achieving this include:

* Preparing medium term plans, through collaboration with colleagues, in sufficient detail to have a clear view of how each individual lesson and pupil should develop, success criteria will be employed and key life skills will be nurtured

* In liaison with the Head of PSHE ensuring the school has a coherent, vigilant and up to date approach to E-safety throughout the school which educates the children, parents and adults. This also involves teaching E-safety as part of the curriculum

* Making full and proper use of a diverse range of resources and ensuring that ICT teaching is at the cutting edge of available technology

* Using assessment information and pupil progress to inform future planning

* Marking work promptly in accordance with the school’s Marking Policy and ensuring all feedback to children helps them to make progress in their learning

* Fostering an atmosphere in which caring relationships are likely to be nurtured

* Organising the classroom in a stimulating fashion and displaying the children’s work to the best possible advantage

* Understanding and employing a comprehensive range of multi-sensory teaching strategies that will enable pupils with a wide range of learning preferences to access the curriculum

* Providing cover for absent colleagues, as requested

* Taking on a fair share of supervisory duties, in accordance with staff duty rotas, to ensure the smooth running of the school

Skills and qualifications:

• Graduate - PGCE/QTS

• Good communication skills 

• Strong organisational skills

• Innovative teacher with the ability to inspire both pupils and colleagues

• Ability to work in a team 

• Ability to prioritise effectively and balance competing pressures

• Ability to see task through to completion

• Management potential
