Job overview

Established in 2005, Gulf British Academy is an independent, co-educational, fully accredited school that will be opening brand new premises in August 2020. We will be catering for pupils from Pre-KG to Year 7 and plan to add another Year level each year.

As such, we are seeking a qualified and experienced ICT Teacher to join us and our team of Specialist Subject Teachers. In return for your service, we offer an excellent package for overseas, qualified employees that includes:

What you offer

You are fully conversant with Key Stage 1 and 2 curricula, and can also teach your subject across Key Stage 3. You are a teacher who can reflect upon and adapt their own practice to raise attainment while instilling confidence and independence in our pupils.

Essential requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status: A degree qualification in teaching (e.g. PGCE or Bachelor’s in Education) 
  • Expert knowledge of your subject area as evidenced by your experience, passion and CPD in teaching ICT.
  • Recent UK teaching experience or international experience within a British curriculum-based, BSO-accredited school.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to inspire and build good relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
  • A clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and/or police check.


Desirable:

  • Your degree subject is in ICT or Computing.
  • Knowledge and experience in deploying, using and managing Student Information Systems (iSams, SIMS, etc) and willing to train fellow staff members in these areas.
  • G Suite for Education certification and CPD.
  • Familiarity with initiatives such as Philosophy for Children and Growth Mindset.

Curriculum

We work closely within the national curriculum for England to deliver creative and interactive programmes that develop our academic curriculum, pastoral care system and extra-curricular activities to ensure our children are happy and enjoy coming to school. This includes a house system, as well as Philosophy for Children and Growth Mindset initiatives. We also embrace Islamic culture and values through Arabic Language, Islamic and Quran studies in accordance with the guidelines of the Kuwait Ministry of Education.
