Job overview

Stanmore College has a great opportunity for you to provide Information, Advice and Guidance to both young learners, aged 16 – 19, and adults.  You will provide accurate and up-to-date information and advice on courses, jobs, apprenticeships and careers, both face to face and on the telephone to include in-depth one to one interviews as required

You will have experience of providing advice, support and guidance to 16-19 year olds or to adults in 1 to 1 and in group settings plus a relevant qualification at level 3 or above and an IAG qualification at Level 6.

Salary : Band G, points 21 – 24, £18,334 - £19,739 per annum (based on a full-time salary of £25,969 - £27,959 per annum)

Stanmore College is a mixed, non-denominational further education college in the London Borough of Harrow, serving students from the age of 16 and above. 

Stanmore College was established in 1987 and has two sites – Elm Park and Kenton Learning Centre. Facilities at the college include a learning resource centre, IT suites, media suites, an art and design studio, sports hall and fitness suite. It was identified as good by Ofsted in 2017.

It works to ensure that students are identified as individuals and that their needs are met. Diversity is celebrated in the college community, where everyone is treated with respect regardless of their differences. The college wants all students to feel supported during their time learning and offers a wide range of support services, including health clinics, higher education advice and personal counselling. A careers advice service is also on site for students to go along to and discuss their next steps with an advisor. Enrichment opportunities are available for students to expand their skills and develop new interests, including sports clubs, fitness classes, coding club and film club. The college wants students to extend their opportunities beyond the classroom and further enhance their employability skills, offering initiatives such as Student Parliament where skills are practiced in leadership, democracy and teamwork.
