Job overview

We are looking for a field engineer to work across some of our schools in Surrey, Wokingham, Croydon or West Sussex. This is a great opportunity for someone who would like to use their IT skills to support the teams in our primary schools, and ultimately be part of the GLF team making a difference to the outcomes of the children.

You will provide first and second line support in the field, working with a range of systems and users with varying skills and will need to find solutions to issues affecting all aspects of IT within the schools.  This is a field based role comprising of regular scheduled, ad hoc or emergency visits as required.

The varied nature of this role requires an intelligent and enthusiastic person who has the ability to think outside the box to solve issues independently, but who can also work effectively with our wider IT and school teams. A friendly and professional manner is vital as this is a customer focused role, based in schools.

You must have a minimum of 1-2 years experience in a similar role and experience with hardware and software, including installation, configuration and deployment, however you will benefit from the support of our experienced IT team. 

The successful candidate for the field engineer role will be expected to travel to a number of our primary schools (as appropriate to the candidate's own location).

This role is for 36 hours a week for a minimum of 41 weeks of the year (term time + 2 weeks), however we will consider a full time appointment.

Salary: G7 FTE: £24,288 - £28,657
