IT Technician

Required for May 2021
Starting Salary £23,427.00 (Scale 3, Spinal Point 5)
36 hours per week, all year round
The Governors are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and capable individual to act as an IT Technician in this fast-growing, Roman Catholic, 11 – 18 comprehensive school judged “outstanding” by the Archdiocese of Southwark in June 2019 and “good” by Ofsted in May 2017.
You will be responsible for maintaining the school’s networked computer equipment and managing the IT Helpdesk, under the direction of the Network Manager. You should have a good working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and Office suite. You will be enthusiastic about IT & technology in general and be willing to learn about new technologies. You will have excellent organisational skills and self-discipline and will be able to communicate effectively with other people.
Previous experience of working in IT support, familiarity with server and networking technology and experience of working in an educational setting would be advantageous but not essential. The ability to work professionally under pressure to deadlines and operate flexibly within the changing needs of the school is essential.
To apply, please complete the support staff application form on our website and email to mgriffith@sjbc.wandsworth.sch.uk or apply online through the TES portal.
Early applications are welcome and we reserve the right to appoint before the closing date if we find a suitable candidate.
Please note that if you complete the application form on an Apple Mac you must use ‘Adobe Acrobat Reader’ (you can get it here: http://get.adobe.com/uk/reader/ ) and not the ‘Preview’ application that comes with the computer due to an incompatibility.
If you have not been contacted within five working days from the closing date, please assume that your application has not been shortlisted for an interview.
Closing date: Noon Friday 16th April 2021
Interview date: Thursday 22nd April 2021
