At Simpson’s Lane Academy, we believe that with high aspirations, expectations and the right support, our children can go on to follow their interests and achieve their goals, as well as becoming a contributing valued member of society.

Located in Knottingley, Simpson’s Lane Academy is very close to the M62, A1 and within walking distance of Knottingley train station. Our Academy is slightly larger than average, with 382 children on roll, catering for EYFS up to Y6, and 40 part time Nursery places.

We are graded ‘Good’ by Ofsted, who’s comments included:

'Staff feel well cared for. There is lots of relevant training to support staff, in different roles, to do their job well.’

'The facilities in the school are exceptional. The ‘immersion suite’ is particularly impressive. It enhances pupils’ understanding of the wider world. It can simulate different experiences, such as getting on a train or a plane, or living in an historic setting. These special opportunities supplement pupils’ personal development well.'

We really are proud of our facilities, in addition to the ‘immersion suite’, the academy recently developed two incredible themed libraries to help promote a love of reading as well as building stronger links with the local community and parents.

You will be joining a school community that prioritises everyone’s well-being, ensuring it is at the centre of everything we do. This is reflected in our diverse curriculum, which is enhanced by a broad range of enrichment opportunities.
