Job overview

Join the Abacus family! We are a growing 'Outstanding' 1 form entry school which opened in 2013, looking for an experienced Key Stage 2 Leader as we expand into Upper Key Stage 2. We can offer fantastic leadership opportunities as the school grows. We are part of CfBT Schools Trust which is a collaborative family of 16 schools (5 secondary, 11 primary). Our mission is to enable children and young people to achieve personal and academic excellence. Whilst we work with schools at all stages of effectiveness, at the same time we expect all of our schools to be on a journey towards excellence.

We are looking for an experienced teacher who has experience teaching in Year 6 to lead Key Stage 2. You will oversee the teaching and learning in your Key Stage, under the guidance and support of the Deputy Head Teacher. In addition to this responsibility, you will lead a subject area as well as be responsible for a Year 5 class.

As a free school, we operate much like a state school and follow the National Curriculum with the addition of Outdoor Learning and Mandarin, taught by our specialist Mandarin teacher.

In return we can offer:

- Excellent Leadership support

- Highly supportive team

- Opportunities to work in collaboration with other schools in the Trust

- Well behaved children who are keen to learn

- Protected Leadership time every week

- CPD opportunities at all levels

If you are considering joining our team, we strongly encourage you to visit the school. Top arrange a visit, please contact admin@abacu-cfbt.org or ssavvideshowell@abacus-cfbt.org (Stephanie Savvides-Howell - Acting headteacher)
