The British Junior Academy of Brussels (BJAB) is located in the diplomatic residential area of Brussels and the diverse intake is reflected in our proximity to the main institutions of the EU, major NGOs and offices of multinational companies. Our reputation, since 1994, as a high-quality provider of the National Curriculum of England is recognised in the community and by our 2019 "Excellent" rating by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI). The school is opening Year 7 and 8 in September and an additional building will become available in 2020.
We encourage and expect excellence from all our pupils and place emphasis on independence and self-motivation. Historically, our Year 6 leavers have progressed to a range of first-choice schools including Eton, Westminster Under (with scholarship), St Mary’s Ascot, Cheltenham Ladies College, Magdalen College, Oxford, British School of Brussels and a variety of international schools across Europe. We now expect this trend to continue at Year 9, making BJAB the only authentic Prep school in Brussels. Our ethos is grounded in providing a safe, caring, respectful, tolerant and disciplined environment where high standards prevail in all areas of school life. The parent body is active and engaged in supporting the educational aims of the school and providing a lively social dimension through The Friends of BJAB. The school has approximately 200 pupils and a teaching staff of 30. Please visit our website for more information: www.bjab.org.
