Job overview

I have spoken with a school in the Littleover area and they are looking for either an NQT or an experienced teacher who wants to take on a role within Key stage 2 covering the PPA time for their other teaching staff. The role is advertised on a part time supply basis most likely consisting of 2 days per week (0.4). As a 2-form entry school they ask that the teacher covering this role has experience in a similarly structured school and is willing to manage varying levels of pupils in each class.

Having recently been given ‘good’ by Ofsted the school want to maintain the level of education that they provide and to build on their new reputation in the local area and push for ‘outstanding’. This has been echoed by the SLT as they are providing funding for more professional development and teaching resources for their staff to utilise. They have also employed more Teaching Assistants to help with any 1:1 work or to just take some of the pressure off the classroom teacher when it comes to managing the class.

The ideal person for this school is someone with enthusiasm and high levels of self-motivation who wants to push themselves and the pupils so that the school can achieve its goal. The school want a teacher who can go the extra mile and take on extra responsibilities. They intend on holding interviews for this position, most likely consisting of some observations and a telephone interview.

Please note that all teachers must hold valid QTS. For any Teaching Assistant roles you must hold an NVQ Level 2 or above, a relevant educational degree or a minimum of 3 months relevant experience within a UK school in the last 5 years.
