Job overview

We are looking for an outstanding Upper KS2 teacher to join our dedicated and hard-working team at Haddon Dene Preparatory School in Broadstairs.

You will be an outstanding classroom practitioner with a high level of commitment, drive and passion for the education and welfare of primary school children.

For over 90 years, Haddon Dene has maintained an excellent reputation for providing the highest quality education and pastoral care.  We are a small, co-educational preparatory school situated in a historic, seaside location, for children aged 3 to 11 years.  The school comprises of two delightful, large Edwardian buildings.

Our aim is to give every child the opportunity to realise their fullest potential, building confidence and character by engaging them in an exceptional breadth of activities which complements their academic achievement.  Delivered by highly specialised staff, our purposefully broad and individually responsive curriculum enables the majority of our children to move on to Grammar School education.

You will help drive our school into the future, promoting our caring ethos and outstanding results by discovering the right way for each child in your care to reach their potential.

Be it NQT or seasoned practitioner, the key quality we are searching for is the ‘wow factor’ in the classroom – can you grab the attention of the whole class and keep it whilst delivering outstanding teaching to each child?  Are you prepared to think carefully about how to enhance your lessons, your classroom, and your pastoral care?  Do you have the passion to ‘roll-up your sleeves’ and ‘get stuck-in’ to every aspect of our school?  If you can honestly answer ‘yes’ to these questions, we’d like to meet you.

The candidate:

  • Truly exceptional teacher
  • Proven track record of outstanding outcomes
  • Commitment to achieving exceptional results for every child in the school
  • Passion for the teaching and broader education of primary school children
  • Ambition and vision for developing our reputable school
  • Able to motivate and develop a class of learners
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Solid understanding of schools and commitment outside the classroom
