Downham Market Academy has recently joined the high achieving Cambridgeshire Educational Trust. This is an exceptional opportunity to work in this high achieving and ambitious trust.

We are looking to appoint a passionate and inspiring practitioner who will help build the success of the Mathematics Department at Downham Market. As the trust continues to grow there will be opportunities to take on key roles within the trust, developing Key Stage 3 Mathematics across the schools within it.

The trust strongly believes continuing professional development is at the heart of excellent teaching and high standards and has an outstanding programme open to all members of staff, offering tailored CPD to staff at all stages of their careers.

We welcome applications from both recently qualified teachers, and more experienced practitioners looking for their next challenge.

During our expansion we will always be keen to hear from Teachers, at all levels of experience, who are interested in joining our team

Responsibilities will include:

· Monitor and develop teaching and learning in KS3 lessons.

· Support and coach teachers in the development of effective classroom practice.

· Ensure students have a personalised programme including planned interventions where appropriate.

· Produce written reports where appropriate (e.g. KS3 progress).

· Offer high quality CPD via the school CPD programme.

· Ensure all stakeholders have access to high quality information, including through the school website and curriculum presentations to parents.

· Evaluate and monitor student progress and hold teachers to account for performance of students in their classes.

· Plan for, monitor and manage student groups including department setting in line with school policy.

· Plan and implement Curriculum development.

· Coordinate enrichment activities including school

·   Further develop links with our local primary schools

· Deputise for the Head of Department where appropriate.

  • Downham Market is a market town set in beautiful Norfolk, with excellent fast train links to the cultural centres of both Cambridge (33 minutes) and London (1 hour 27 minutes).
