About the role:

You will be responsible for teaching Health and Social Care on the BTEC Level 1 Diplomas in health and social care with 14-16 aged learners and responsible for planning and delivering units linked to the Health and Social Care sector. You will also be delivering the Prince's Trust Level 1 Award to other 14-16 KS4 groups in the area. Other general curriculum responsibilities will include assessment, tracking student achievement and some administration for the courses. You will tutor the KS4 14-16 Level 1 Health and Social Care group and responsibilities will include calling parents, multi-agency communication, setting targets, holding 1:1s, writing reports as well as tracking the attendance and punctuality. 

About you:

With appropriate experience and qualifications reflecting a strong background in the Health and Social care education and/or the Care industry, you will have a teaching qualification or the commitment to undertake one during the first term of contract. You will have a history of teaching within a vocational (or similar) context to a high standard, with personal/group tutoring experience and of teaching a variety of BTEC units in Health and Social Care at Level 1. You must also have experience in dealing with challenging behaviour and working with this aged cohort. You must have the ability to communicate with students and to motivate and support them in their studies.

About Westminster Kingsway College

Westminster Kingsway College is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational further education college in the London Borough of Camden and the London Borough of Westminster, serving pupils from the age of 16 and above. The college has approximately 14,000 students on record every year.

Westminster Kingsway College was founded in 2000 after the amalgamation of Westminster College and Kingsway College. It has learning centres across London in King’s Cross, Regents Park, Camden, Victoria and Soho.
