The Govering Board are seeking to appoint a Key Stage Co-ordinator to commence in post from 1st January 2019. 

We wish to appoint a strong classroom practitioner who is able to inspire and motivate both colleagues and students. The role requires you to provide high levels of support, appropriate challenge, and effective leadership for the Year 8 and 9 pastoral team. The individual will have the ability to handle this position with imagination, creativity, integrity and kindness, and the ability to actively manage complex situations, and provide a strong lead on pastoral strategies. They will be a calm, positive and aspirational leader and role model to all in our community, promoting Guiseley School’s vision, mission and values.

The Key Stage Co-ordinator will be required to maintain strategic oversight of the Upper Key Stage 3 pastoral team, and to develop an ethos of achievement and behaviour that secures a positive working atmosphere for all students. Focus will be centred on the progress of students in year 8 and 9 and in overseeing the preparation of these students for transition into Key Stage 4. The Key Stage Co-ordinator role provides a unique opportunity to work across all areas of school improvement and so this role would be well suited to any colleagues who aspire to a role on senior leadership within the next two to three years. 

The successful candidate will:

• Be a strategic thinker and effective operational leader who will inspire students and staff to achieve their full potential

• Have a proven ability to lead and manage change

• Be skilled at identifying and removing barriers to student performance

• Have a strong record of raising achievement 

• Have outstanding communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels

• Demonstrate experience of enhancing school ethos and student behaviour

Guiseley School is an 11-18 fully inclusive school situated in a small town in the City of Leeds in West Yorkshire. Historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, it is now a suburb of north west Leeds and close to the stunning Dales. The school is part of a Co-operative Trust established in 2014. The school works jointly with a number of local schools to promote the welfare and success of the children of Aireborough.
