Hours : 24.5 hours per week (flexible depending on shift pattern), Term Time Only + 1 week. Monday to Friday 07.30–09.00 & 15.15-18.00. Holiday Club hours are also available with this role on a casual basis (08:30 – 16:30)

Due to continued growth and success, Gorsey Bank Primary School is looking to appoint a pro-active and dedicated Kids Club Leader to join the team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Laurus Trust family, and to play a vital role in maintaining the high standards of the Trust. Support staff work tirelessly to ensure all services run smoothly and efficiently, enabling our teaching staff to focus on delivering an outstanding education for our students.

Main Responsibilities 

• Lead the Kids Club Team at Gorsey Bank Primary School.

• Provide high standards of care and play opportunities for children between the ages of 4 and 11 years old in a safe, secure and stimulating environment.

• Maintain staffing rotas and manage staff cover and weekly shifts.

• Supervise staff to provide a safe, stimulating environment with play opportunities that suit a range of needs and interests of children.

• Work in partnership with parents and carers. 

• Create a weekly plan of activities which are appropriate, varied and follow children’s interests.

• Observe, monitor and evaluate children’s responses to activities and adjust accordingly to ensure development through play.

• Ensure that children’s records are kept up to date and that staff know how to access them.

• Ensure that all statutory requirements are met.

• Review, amend and implement all policies and procedures and ensure the team have a good understanding of how to implement them.

• Be responsible for day to day administration and record keeping.

Key Skills & Experience 

• Must possess an NVQ Level 2 or above in childcare/play work or relevant qualification

• A sound knowledge and understanding of play and how to create opportunities for a wide range of ages and interests is essential

• Demonstrable experience of supervising or managing a team is required

• You must possess a strong understanding of Early Years Framework

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience of working with children aged 4-11 would be advantageous 

• Ideally possess prior experience of working in a school environment
