£65-£70 per day PAYE 

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are Level 3 CACHE/ Degree or equivalent. 

Contract dates – 19th April 2021 – end of the academic year 

The role 

Smart Teachers are looking to recruit an experienced KS1 Teaching Assistant to support pupils, on a generalised level in a three-form entry school located in the London Borough of Hounslow. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting a class of 30 pupils in their learning as well as socially within the playground. The KS1 Teaching Assistant will also be required to assist the class teacher with planning and creating activities for the pupils as well as keeping the classroom organised. There may be an opportunity to take lead on small groups during phonics sessions to provide extra support for those pupils that may be slightly behind. A knowledge of phonics, will therefore be desirable as well as strong behavioural management.

The school has been rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted and fosters an environment of young and enthusiastic educators, lead by a supportive leadership team, who encourage positivity and progression for both pupils and staff. The school has good transport links, as well as a car park for all staff.  The school encourage outdoor learning and activities to contribute to a more fruitful way of understanding for the pupils. Although a fairly large school, there is a strong sense of community feel within the school and staff are treated to termly nights out/teamwork activities to strengthen relationships within the school. This is heavily associated with their on-going effort to improve the well-being of all staff. 


To be considered for the KS1 Teaching Assistant position, you will:

• Degree Level/ minimum Level 3

• Experience with KS1 Phonics 

• Strong behavioural management 

• Proven experience working in Primary Schools

• Experience working with SEN students

• Eligible to work in the UK (must have valid visa)
