Abacus is an OFSTED rated Outstanding 1 FE primary school situated in Camden, North West London.  Opening with a cohort of 30 Reception class pupils in September 2013, Abacus offers a broad curriculum, with a strong focus on English and Mathematics and incorporating Mandarin and outdoor learning. Our aim is to inspire all children within a positive, creative and multi-sensory learning environment, maximizing their individual talents, curiosity and ability to think.

Created in the community due to the lack of a local primary school in Belsize, Abacus joined the rapidly growing family of successful Academies and Free Schools managed by Anthem Schools Trust, one of the world’s leading education charities.

We are currently in high quality temporary accommodation whilst our amazing permanent home is being developed and built. This is a great opportunity to be able to work in a purpose built, brand new primary school.

Key responsibilities

• Overseeing the teaching and Learning in Key Stage 2, with support from the Deputy Head Teacher

• Lead a subject and monitor its impact across the school

• Attend weekly leadership meetings to discuss the needs of the school and to evaluate current practice.

• Review and respond to assessment data across Key Stage 2, including in your subject area

• Contribute to the review and selection of appropriate teaching resources;

• Contribute to the creation of a positive and stimulating learning environment;

• Contribute to the process of ensuring the school is ready for any future Ofsted.
