KS2 Teacher

Teacher of Year 5 and Year 6 cohorts required for academic year 2018-19

This is a part time, temporary position to cover a maternity leave and would particularly suit a teacher with a strong interest in the teaching of mathematics. 

We are seeking to employ an outstanding and inspirational teacher to join our committed and enthusiastic team for a full academic year, while our Year 5 & 6 teacher is on maternity leave. Ideally, we would like to appoint someone who is able to work 4 mornings a week with a particular focus on mathematics, although this timetable is negotiable for the right candidate. 

We are looking for a teacher to work as part of our team from September 2018 until August 2019, in the first instance. The successful candidate will be a creative and motivated practitioner, with high expectations of learning and behaviour and a strong commitment to school improvement and to raising standards. They will be reflective, flexible and enthusiastic, with the ability to demonstrate excellent classroom practice, a secure understanding of effective pedagogic approaches, an ability to work well as part of a team with good communication and interpersonal skills, and a commitment to ensuring the delivery of a creative and engaging curriculum. 

If appointed, you will be joining a warm, welcoming rural school with supportive colleagues, parents and governors, teaching children who are caring, well behaved and motivated. 

As part of a growing multi academy trust, we are in a position to offer opportunities which will appeal to a range of potential applicants. Although this is advertised as a temporary position, there are likely to be future opportunities within the trust for the successful candidate and our membership enables us to offer professional development opportunities beyond the context of our own school for teachers seeking career progression.
