Witney Community Primary School is  part of the River Learning Trust - A multi-academy trust  COMMITTED TO EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION

Witney Community Primary School is a happy and welcoming school with a strong positive ethos. The focus is on achievement and enjoyment for all whilst promoting learning and self-confidence. Through a wide ranging, well-developed and creative curriculum the school develops the pupils' confidence and self esteem, providing them with a secure foundation and enjoyment of learning. Extra provision is offered through booster classes, links for more able pupils with partnership secondary schools, and after school clubs and community sports.

The school is part of the  River Learning Trust as well as the Witney Partnership of schools. These offer a wide range of initiatives and CPD to support all staff in the community.

We are in partnership with Oxford Brookes University, and we host and mentor initial teacher trainees.

Witney CP School is situated to the north of the town and was the original county primary school for Witney.  It moved to its present site in 1938 and during recent years has undergone major remodeling and refurbishments to keep pace with changes in primary school practice.    The accommodation consists of a large hall, 10 classrooms in the main school building and a variety of teaching and resource areas. There is a separate dining hall and kitchen and the covered swimming pool is in use all year round for our children.

The grounds of the school are spacious and provide plenty of room for physical education.   There is a patio area for quiet play and a pond and nature area for environmental/scientific work.  The children are organised in 7 classes, one for each year group from Reception to Year 6. There is also a private pre school on site  who we work with very closely.

The full teaching establishment is Head teacher plus 7 fte.  There is a 0.6fte Special Needs coordinator.  In addition there are Support Staff working in all departments offering intervention work and general classroom support.

The Finance Officer and 2 School administrators provide support to the Head teacher, staff and governors.  The Caretaker, Cleaners and Catering staff complete the team.

Please have a look at our website to find out more about us or arrange to come and look around the school, you would be very welcome.
