A fantastic opportunity for an innovative, creative, courageous and resilient KS3 Group Leader and Teacher to grow and thrive in a unique special school in an ethnically diverse inner-city area.

The ideal candidate will have successful experience of teaching Primary KS2 and Secondary pupils in either a special or mainstream education setting, as we are just as keen to encourage applications from candidates with a relevant mainstream background as those with special school experience. The candidate will have a proven track record of their impact in securing high quality outcomes for pupils’ learning and achieving. They will have a proven track record of accelerated progress and a robust and secure subject knowledge to teach to GCSE level and possibly beyond.

The successful person will be supported in post by our trust leadership which ensures our:

Eko Pathways School

Eko Pathways is a brand new purpose-built special school for children with social, emotional, behavioural and mental health needs, with a therapeutic approach. It has places for between 77 and 112 children and young people, catering for Year 1 to Year 11.

The school’s provision for pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs is innovative and successful (Ofsted October 2019). Ofsted graded the school good overall and noted the school has high expectations for its pupils’ education and wants them to excel beyond their lessons. We believe that our pupils need to learn, grow and thrive to be successful regardless of their starting point.

Eko Trust family

The school is part of Eko Trust family of schools, which has six schools across East London. As part of a high achieving multi academy trust, we offer a high quality personalised approach to developing all staff through coaching, mentoring and both internal and external training. We also provide financial support and time off for staff development. Staff wellbeing is instrumental to our success and that’s why we provide non-contractual benefits such as the Schools Advisory Service, they offer confidential wellbeing and medical support. We are also part of the Cycle to Work Scheme.

  • To work with the Borough’s Primary and Secondary schools in helping pupils manage their social, emotional and behavioural difficulties in order to make progress and reach their potential.
