Tes are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspirational Teacher of Mathematics on a full-time basis from September 2021, where the successful candidate will have responsibility as KS4 Coordinator. This is a fixed-term 12 month maternity cover. 

This is an exciting opportunity to join a co-educational, non-selective secondary school for students aged 11-18. They are a member of a multi-academy trust with a network of non-selective primary and secondary state schools. Together, they work to empower young people with the knowledge, skills and creativity they need to succeed in school and in life. 

Their proactive approach to developing positive outcomes for its students has been recognised by Ofsted, who confirmed once again in November 2017 that they are a 'Good' school. It is architecturally inspiring, boasting truly outstanding facilities and cutting edge resources. In 2018, a significant financial investment has provided a spacious restaurant, a further suite of science laboratories and a gym.

The trust places a strong emphasis on CPD for teachers and for senior and middle leaders. They run a regular programme of training events to improve teaching performance and also provide focused management development and one to-one coaching opportunities. They have an active cross-trust group on the Teaching Leaders programme and use Future Leaders and Teach First extensively.

You will play a leading and highly visible role within the department, working with the Head of Maths and KS3 Co-ordinator for Maths to ensure the highest standards of learning, teaching and achievement for students. The school are looking for someone who has demonstrable experience of curriculum leadership, with a proven track record of positive outcomes for KS4 students.

The Successful Candidate:

• Graduate with Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent

• Evidence of continued professional development and a commitment to further Study

• Experience of teaching all key stages

• Demonstrable ability to effectively teach Maths up to GCSE

• Demonstrable ability to raise student achievement across the full age and ability range

• Evidence of curriculum development in Maths

• Ability to provide a clear sense of direction and purpose to achieve aims

• Excellent subject knowledge and understanding of the curriculum

• Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of the principles with regard to the safeguarding of children and Child Protection
