Salary: Remuneration is at Grade 7 (Pts 23-25), starting point dependent on qualifications and experience within the range £19,877.40 - £21,176.52.
Hours: 37 per week (term time) plus 4 weeks
St John Fisher is a mixed 11-19 Catholic Academy with a strong moral and spiritual ethos. The Governors wish to make an appointment to the position of Lay Chaplain for January 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The Governors invite applications from practising Catholics in good standing with the Church. The Lay Chaplain provides spiritual and pastoral support to students and staff of the school. This position is seen as crucial in fulfilling the School's mission. The Christian faith and commitment of the Lay Chaplain will play a central role in bearing witness to this mission and maintaining the distinctive Catholic nature of the school.
- Live as a disciple of Jesus Christ in the Catholic Church?
- Have a sound understanding of the Catholic faith and how to share it with others?
- Enjoy working with young people and adults?
- Know how to organise and plan liturgies and events such as the celebration of Mass, retreats and fundraising activities?

We belong to a strong network of Lay Chaplains within the Diocese of Leeds and beyond and we offer ongoing CPD and faith formation.
