Job overview

Lead Midday Assistant

Permanent

Part-Time - 12.5hrs/week

Are you looking for the opportunity to make a real difference to children’s lives? Are you ambitious, motivated, and ready to become part of a growing school? Do you have the drive, ideas, and high expectations to help create a truly transformational school? Do you thrive in a fast-paced, research-driven, and teaching-focused environment? If so, we are currently recruiting for a Lead Midday Assistant to join our team at Goresbrook Primary School.

We are an all-through school who have undergone rapid changes within the last couple of years, and are looking for new dynamic team members to join us and continue this journey. Our school opened in September 2014 and we currently have Nursery to Year 6, with 2 forms of entry in each year group, meaning that workload is shared, and there is always somebody to discuss ideas with.

As a Lead Midday Assistant you will be required to work 12.5 hours per week (Mon-Fri) during term time only and your main roles include overseeing a small team of midday supervisors and other responsibilities, such as ensuring all pupils are engaged and supported both in learning and play during lunchtime, while in a safe, warm environment which models the schools values and ethos.

We have the children; we have the brand new state-of-the-art building; we now need you! If you are passionate about working in education, and are excited by rigorous and innovative curriculum design, we are the school for you. You are very welcome to visit us, even if you don’t end up applying for the post. We are 20 minutes on the tube from Mile End, and just 15 minutes’ drive from East London. We love to have people visit, to participate in children’s learning and see what we offer our children.

United Learning

Goresbrook Primary School is part of United Learning, a large, and growing, group of schools aiming to offer a life changing education to children and young people across England.

Our schools work as a team and achieve more by sharing than any single school could. Our subject specialists, our Group-wide intranet, our own curriculum and our online learning portal all help us share knowledge and resource, helping to simplify work processes and manage workloads for an improved work-life balance.

As a Group, we can reward our staff better: with good career opportunities, better pay, benefits, and ultimately, the satisfaction of helping children to succeed. We invest in our staff wellbeing. Our academies each have at least eight INSET days per year (with three of those solely dedicated to planning), and an ongoing group-wide wellbeing programme. It's an ethos we call ‘the best in everyone’.
