Due to the continued success of the subject, we are expanding the department and now seek an enthusiastic teacher of languages to join our supportive faculty.  Applicants must be able to teach French and/or Spanish. You will be committed to achieving high standards of teaching and learning through the delivery of motivating and well-planned lessons. You will be a reflective practitioner who is creative, research-engaged and unwavering in having high expectations of all pupils.  French and Spanish are popular subjects in our school and in 2019 the MFL faculty achieved its highest ever GCSE pass rate of 82% at Grades 4-9.  We are very keen on trips abroad and offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities to enrich the educational experience of our pupils.


The successful applicant will:

• Have a rigorous approach to the delivery of Modern Foreign Languages across both KS3 and KS4; 

• Be enthusiastic about languages with the ability to inspire, develop and encourage independence and resilience in our pupils;

• Set high standards within and beyond the faculty;

• Have outstanding classroom management skills, high expectations and a commitment to the best possible outcomes for all students;

• Be highly motivated and self-driven with the ability to work well with other, high achieving professionals.

• Promote collaborative working and demonstrate the ability to lead learning in the classroom effectively.

• Demonstrate the ability and previous experience in driving initiatives with a quantifiable positive impact on the outcomes for pupils.

Emerson Park Academy is a mixed comprehensive school for pupils aged 11-16 years. 

Since September 1999, 192 pupils have been admitted annually, in response to parental demand.  The Academy can trace its roots back to 1943 when it began life as the only Grammar School in the country to be establised during World War Two.  It move to its present site in 1954 and became a comprehensive school in 1973. 

Emerson Park Academy has a full complement of committed and highly qualified specialist teaching and support staff.  The Academy is most fortunate to benefit from such a talented, hard-working workforce.  The Academy is set in spacious and attractive groundsd overlooking the Ingrebourne Valley.
