Lead Practitioner of Music required to join a fantastic Academy based in Milton Keynes!

Tes is currently seeking an ambitious Lead Practitioner of Music for a friendly and supportive school seeking to expand its successful and friendly Music Department. The school is a medium-sized 11 - 18 Academy catering for a wide range of learning abilities.

The Music Department currently delivers great results across KS4/5 with good uptake within Music and Performing Arts when pupils progress to FE and HE.

The role will include coordinating the delivery of Music at KS3 and GCSE/A-level, enhancing provision and supporting growth. You will drive improvement within the Music and Performing Arts Faculty and will take lead on curriculum and pupil engagement across the school. You'll also partner the SLT to support pupil engagement across Music including involvement in extra-curricular activity.

  • a UK teaching qualification such as PGCE/PGDE, SCITT, BEd or MEd with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • a relevant Music Degree or a related subject
  • experience of delivering Music up to GCSE/A-level, pushing and engaging learners to progress within the subject
