Lead Practitioner Science Faculty (Lead Practitioner Scale 4-8)

St John Bosco Arts CollegeLiverpool

St John Bosco Arts College has a reputation for excellence.  The school is one of 87 of the best schools and multi-academy trusts in the country to be designated as a Teaching School Hub from September 2021, meaning it is a centre of excellence for teacher training and development.

Due to the promotion of the current postholder to the Senior Leadership Team, we are now recruiting an outstanding teacher to become a Lead Practitioner across the Science Faculty. You will lead on curriculum, teaching, learning and assessment across the Science Faculty and contribute to the wider College. As a central part of the team, you will provide excellent support for colleagues on their journey to outstanding, whilst maintaining your own excellent standards each day in the classroom.

You will be an outstanding Science teacher, with a proven record of ‘outstanding’ results and demonstrable evidence of improving the practice of others. Responsibilities will include the sharing of best practice, mentoring underperforming colleagues and embedding systems and practices that lead to improved outcomes for all students. You will have a confident and empathic approach to mentoring colleagues and will lead on training and development both within the Science Faculty and across the wider College. The ability to teach to A-Level is desirable, but not essential.

If you are passionate about teaching and learning and want to join an ambitious team of professionals then we want to hear from you.

The successful candidate will need to be:

· An outstanding practitioner

· Able to model effective teaching and learning strategies

· Ambitious in raising attainment across all key stages

In return we offer:

· Support and opportunities for professional development

The successful candidate will be required to teach across the age and ability range.
