It is a forward looking and dynamic school which has a reputation for excellence in every area. George Abbot became an Academy on 1 July 2011 and went on to be a founding member of the GEP multi academy trust. We also have Teaching School status.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent position for a motivated and enthusiastic teacher to work with the Head of VI Specialist Centre to ensure that children and young people with vision impairment (CYPVI) receive full access to the curriculum and school life and attain or exceed expected levels of progress. The thriving VI Specialist Centre comprises two full-time and two part-time members of staff and offers provision for children and young people with vision impairment across all key stages.

We will seriously consider those applicants without the MQ who have a commitment to complete the distance learning qualification in vision impairment.

You will have an inclusive approach to learning, together with a particular interest in the teaching and learning of children and young people with vision impairment.

You will be someone who can, ideally, teach across the full age and ability range and be prepared to take part/lead educational trips and provide support for extra-curricular activities.
