Lead Teacher for ASC Centre

Job Reference Number: ASC

Qualified Teacher’s Pay Scale

Maternity leave cover, commencing November 2018

We are seeking to appoint an experienced, inclusive and enthusiastic teacher to cover maternity leave, on a fixed term contract for up to one year, or until the return of the post-holder, whichever is soonest.

The role will include coordinating the daily curriculum for students with ASC, teaching SEN groups within the centre and offering outreach support to staff.

Potential candidates may come from a variety of educational backgrounds, specialist or mainstream, but will need to have experience of teaching students with special education needs, preferably with ASC experience.

The centre currently provides placements for eight secondary aged students. All students accessing the centre will be in receipt of an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and require individualised provision monitored by the Local Authority. Students can integrate into Bridgwater College Academy, but time will vary according to individual need, with some students needing to spend a large proportion/all of their education within the ASC resource centre.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in this provision at our inclusive Academy and to become part of our supportive and experienced SEN team.

Candidates are very much encouraged to visit Bridgwater College Academy prior to application.
