King Edward VI School Lichfield is seeking a talented and enthusiastic teacher who is able to lead the teaching of Health & Social Care at Key Stage 4 and in Post-16. We currently offer the BTEC Technical Award at Key Stage 4 having previously offered a highly successful GCSE course. In the Sixth Form, we offer BTEC Level 3 National Certificate in Health & Social Care as part of a collaborative approach with a neighbouring school and would like to see this grow to a double award course.
The current demand for Health & Social Care requires approximately a 0.6 FTE teacher, although we anticipate that this will grow over time. The ability to offer a second subject could be linked to a more substantial or possibly a full-time contract.
We are looking for a teacher who has excellent communication skills with an ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents. We expect the successful candidate to work as part of a team and be willing to participate in all aspects of school life.
King Edward VI School is a popular 11-18 comprehensive school rated Good by OfSTED in 2017 with recognition of outstanding practice and a highly positive ethos. The school is well-regarded within the community and has a reputation for high quality teaching; we are currently expanding to take in an additional form of entry from 2019. Lichfield is a small, vibrant cathedral city which is easily accessible from the surrounding areas.
