Here is a great opportunity for an experienced, motivated teacher who is able to lead a large secondary school English department with confidence!

You’ll be managing and supporting a team of thirteen English teachers, many of whom are in their first few years of teaching. Selwyn is looking for a teacher leader who has the ability to help advance each team members individual strengths and provide leadership support to develop each person's career. You’ll need to have an experienced and successful background teaching English, and be confident chairing team meetings and moderating student assessment. This role may be your next career move to enter middle management/leadership, or you might already have past leadership experience!

Selwyn College is a co-educational school located in the Eastern suburb of Auckland, Kohimarama. The school has a role size of about 1200, and you will be teaching students aged 13-18. The school prioritises supporting students in academia and strongly encourages involvement in extracurricular activities

Relevant skills and experience:

  • Hold a relevant qualification in English as well as a recognised initial teacher education qualification,
  • You will have experience and be confident in teaching English to senior level students.
