The West Grantham Academy St Hugh’s seeks to appoint a Leader of Pastoral Creative Curriculum starting as soon as possible. The post is for 37 hours per week for 39 weeks per year.

You will lead the provision of ‘off-site’ programmes for students based in the Meadows, part of the West Grantham Academies Trust. To ensure that students with complex and additional needs receive an appropriate education for their age/stage and that all available forms of support are in place to effect improvement in behaviour, working towards successful integration back into the mainstream academy.

The West Grantham Academy St Hugh’s encourage our students to develop and grow as people during their time with us. As a small Church of England Academy, we get to know our students extremely well and many people comment on the family atmosphere when visiting us. Much of this can be attributed to our ethos, which is driven by our values of creativity, responsibility and wisdom. Our vision includes the development of the use of technology in learning. We are a 1:1 iPad learning environment and all staff are provided with and iPad Pro, Apple pencil and Apple TV for teaching.

The academy is conveniently located close to the A1 and benefits from excellent road and rail links. 

The West Grantham Academy St Hugh’s requires ambitious individuals to join them to support students in reaching their potential.

The successful candidate will:

  •  Work with small groups of students providing intensive support for their complex needs.
  •  Design and implement innovative personalised learning.
  •  To develop and maintain a vigorous reporting and recording process.

The voice of the student is a very important part of our culture and is led by the Head Boy and Head Girl and a team of prefects.  These students act as ambassadors for the academy and help to shape its future.

Of critical importance is the home-school partnership and we recognise the vital role that parents and carers play in the education process.  As such, we offer many opportunities to visit us and also to share in the events at the academy.
