St Peters Aquatics Centre is looking for two Learn to Swim Instructors who are available for morning and afternoon learn to swim lessons.

We are looking for Instructors with a can-do attitude and a passion for teaching children to swim. At St Peters Aquatics Centre, teamwork is crucial to the operation of our busy schedule. You will be a part of our come back and relaunch for our centre and will be supported every step of the way by an experienced team.

Desired attributes:
- A minimum of 2 years teaching experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Approachable
- A person who wants to assist in the growth of the business

Qualifications:
- Teacher of water safety (ASCTA or Aust Swim)
- Teacher of Infants (ASCTA or Aust Swim)
- CPR
- Paid Blue Card

Qualifications desired but not required:
- First Aid
- Pool Lifeguard
- Teach of Competitive Strokes (ASCTA or Aust Swim)

To be successful in this role you will:

  • have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education;
  • hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement; and
  • be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.

Estimated Start Date:  Commencing August 2021

Position Tenure:  Casual

Weeks Worked:  Up to 52 weeks per year including school holidays

Tenure Duration (If Fixed Term):

Total Paid Hours (per wk) & Days Required: Minimum of 10 hrs/wk (Mon to Fri)

Salary Level, Range or Hourly Rate: School Officer Level 3 -  $37.22 per hour

Employment Conditions:  Diocesan Catholic Education Employing Authorities in Queensland Single Interest Agreement

This position involves working with children.  The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child related employment in accordance with the law.
