The Ridge is a very special learning community. We provide a “fresh start” for children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health problems (SEMH).  The curriculum is designed to support children in becoming confident and independent learners in a rapidly changing world.

We are looking to appoint a Learning Mentor to address the needs of pupils who require support to overcome the barriers to learning they experience both inside and outside the school, in order that they are able to achieve their full potential.

You must:

  • Have knowledge of interventions to support children eg social skills development activities
  • Be able to communicate effectively 
  • Hold an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualifications
  • Have previous experience of working with children in a primary setting

Our Curriculum

At The Ridge Academy we teach a curriculum that is similar to other schools because we believe that our pupils have the right to the same school experience as any other primary aged child. The key difference in our curriculum delivery is that it is delivered in very small classes with high levels of staffing.
