Macclesfield College is seeking Experienced Learning Mentors/Tutorial Coaches who will support both the College’s retention and achievement strategies through targeted pastoral, attendance and behaviour support alongside appropriate progression advice for students.   

You will be required to deliver group tutorial sessions and individual 1 to 1 tutorials for a caseload of students and provide mentoring support for those that need extra pastoral support.   

You will be required to provide a consistently high quality learning support service to our learners’ and will require a Level 3 qualification as well as Level 2 English, Maths and ICT.    

You will have recent experience of working within a pastoral, voluntary or teaching capacity, alongside experience of working with students with additional needs. Ideally you will have knowledge of using database management systems for the tracking of students e.g. ProSolution.

Annual leave  

Academic staff are entitled to 40 days per annum (pro rata for part time staff) for the academic year 01 September to 31 August and this is in addition to the Bank and Public Holidays normally observed in England and Wales. 

Business Support staff are entitled to 30 days per annum (pro rata for part time staff) for the academic year 01 September to 31 August and this is in addition to the Bank and Public Holidays normally observed in England and Wales. 

College Management Team are entitled to 35 days per annum (pro rata for part time staff) for the academic year 01 September to 31 August and this is in addition to the Bank and Public Holidays normally observed in England and Wales.  

The College is closed for 2 weeks during the student Christmas break during which time all staff are granted additional leave to be taken at this time.
