We are located in Bourne End, Buckinghamshire, and situated close to direct transport links into London. 

We have a vacancy for a full-time Learning Support Assistant to work within the Learning Support Department for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Someone with experience with Visual Impairment would be desirable.

· You will support students in the mainstream classroom as well as supporting  / leading small group interventions within the Learning Support Department

· You will need to be patient, calm and assertive with good empathy skills

· Knowledge and experience of working with students with SEN is desirable though not essential, as is an ability to understand the KS3 and KS4 curriculum

· Ability to support students to access the English and Maths curriculum (up to GCSE) is desirable

Previously known as The Wye Valley School, Bourne End Academy adopted its current moniker following its conversion to academy status in 2014, the school is now a part of the Wycombe High School Academies Trust. With around 600 pupils aged 11-18 in a co-educational setting, Bourne End Academy is smaller than the average secondary school of its type. In terms of intake, the school has a higher than average number of students with Special Educational Needs, with the school providing a specially resourced unit for students with Autism.
