Smart Teachers is recruiting for a full time Learning Support Assistant for a lovely independent school based in Camden. The school has an ‘Outstanding’ reputation within the local community. They are keen on career growth and are constantly promoting internally. The Learning Support Assistant will be working 1:1 with a child who has a hearing impairment. The child is going into Reception in the 2018-19 school year and needs someone who will give him the extra support he requires. The child is verbal and works at the same level as the other pupils in the class. 

About the Role

  • Learning Support Assistant
  • Commencing at the beginning of the academic year in September 2018
  • Will lead onto a permanent contract after 6 weeks 
  • Working 1:1 with a child whom has a hearing impairment  
  • Working closely with the SENCO 
  • 9:00am – 3:30pm everyday
  • 2 weeks off over Christmas, 2 weeks off over Easter, 4 weeks off over Summer
  • Free daily lunches and weekly fruit basket 
  • On the job training in leading pre-prep school
  • Daily rate from £70 per day (dependent on experience)

In order to be considered for this role, the Learning Support Assistant will need to meet the following criteria:

  • UK classroom / nursery experience within the last two years
  • NQTs and/or OS-trained teachers welcome to apply
  • Eligible to work in the UK (must have valid visa)
  • Recent classroom-based references and valid DBS / police checks
