Wetherby Kensington is currently looking for an enthusiastic and experienced learning support assistant (LSA) to work with a boy in Year 2 starting as soon as possible. The position will be for ten hours spread over Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The successful applicant will be working one to one with the child to support their additional needs. The applicant must be patient and caring as well as a good team player. Previous experience of working with children with additional needs is desirable. They will also be able to develop a positive and supportive working relationship with the child whilst fostering their enthusiasm for learning across all areas of the curriculum. The applicant who is appointed to this role must be able to use a multi-sensory approach to learning. Applicants will need to use their initiative and adapt quickly and intuitively to the needs of the child as well as having a willingness to learn and receive direction from others.

A degree qualification or teaching qualification would be preferable for this role. Experience of working in either Key Stage 1 or 2 is essential as is a thorough up-to-date knowledge and experience of the curriculum.

Wetherby Kensington is a two form, non-selective, pre-preparatory school for boys from Reception to Year 3. It follows exactly the same curriculum and shares the same values and ethos as Wetherby School and is an integral part of the Wetherby Group of schools. Boys at Wetherby Kensington receive very high levels of academic education and pastoral care. The applicant will be paid directly by the parents and salary will be dependent upon experience.
