Learning Technology Adviser

The Learning Technology Adviser will be part of the central Educational ICT Team, working to inspire, change and transform learning and teaching for students and staff whilst working closely with the Learning Systems Project (LSP) Team and school based learning technology colleagues. We are seeking an individual who could work across all school phases.

The role will provide advice and support in the use of learning technology to enhance the innovative delivery of a connected curriculum and online learning programmes.

Acting as a source of expertise, providing guidance and support to schools in the development and delivery of integrated innovation and technologies across the curriculum, the enhancement of the educational virtual learning environment and school based projects.

Main Responsibilities

· Work to develop teaching staff in the use of existing and emerging technologies, and support the development of electronically delivered materials that meet usability and accessibility standards, which support and enhance learning and teaching activities

· Build ongoing relationships with schools to promote the use of technology to develop and demonstrate innovative ways in which to support an improved student experience.

· Develop and deliver training for school staff on the opportunities for using technology in learning, teaching and assessment.

· Assist to identify, pilot, implement, evaluate and promote new uses for learning and teaching in line with organisational information communication strategies.

· Engage with colleagues to develop high quality, innovative and cost effective solutions for the enhancement of learning and teaching through technology.

· Work collaboratively as a team member to ensure support services for learning technologies are consistently well delivered and benefiting the staff and student experience.

· Work collaboratively with the LSP Team to develop and implement the VLE and perform school acceptance testing on systems to ensure the stability of the service delivery.

· To keep abreast of new technology relevant to Learning, Teaching & Assessment and to undertake relevant training as identified through the PRD process.

· Support the strategic objectives of the Information Communications Technology Steering Committee including providing an inclusive and supportive learning environment for staff and students, demonstrating and living the ESF values at all times.

· Undertake other such duties, at any location, as requested by the Manager LSP.

Requirements

Experience at school level or beyond in the teaching, leadership and management of learning technologies. Evidence of significant impact on school learning technology. Evidence of a post of responsibility related to learning technologies. Experience in the delivery of professional learning. Extensive personal learning networks. Project management experience would be desirable.

The English Schools Foundation (ESF) (www.esf.edu.hk) was established by the Hong Kong Government in 1967 and is the largest education foundation in Asia offering a liberal education through the medium of the English language to children of school age.
