Lecturer English (Language and Literature) - Full Time

 

Are you a first-class English Lecturer who is committed to developing the skills and expertise of our students? If so, we would love to hear from you.

 

You will have excellent subject knowledge and enthusiasm to teach our A Level English curriculum. You will be passionate about supporting students to achieve their potential. Our students are hardworking high achievers and therefore experience of teaching to A* standard is essential.

 

Alongside teaching on English Literature and English Language A-levels, you would be a personal tutor, helping students to develop their career pathways and delivering weekly tutorial sessions to support their personal, social and emotional development.  

 

For the right candidate there is the possibility of a course manager role for one of the two English specialisms, with future opportunities to contribute to the delivery of our English with Creative Writing Foundation Degree, offering a further possibility of career development.

 

You will be a team player who is committed to achieving excellent quality of work and agreed performance targets and to achieving the highest standards of personal performance.

Contractual Details

Rate of Pay or Salary: Lecturer £22,711 - £30,115 per annum, depending on qualifications

Course Manager £28,853–£37,458 (qualified) per annum, if unqualified salary will be negotiable

Working Time:   828 hours per annum of teaching and equivalent professional duties over 198 days, for full time posts and pro rata for part time posts. You will be expected to be on site for 34 hours per week pro rata during the whole academic year.

Contract Type:  Permanent

Pension:  Teachers’ Pension Scheme

Leave entitlement: 38 days per year plus bank holidays (pro-rated for part time) plus additional discretionary days at Christmas.

Strode College is a further education establishment for students aged 16 to 19, providing vocational qualifications, A-levels, and the new T-levels as well as providing degree-level qualifications.  We are based in the town of Street, in Somerset and were labelled “outstanding” in the latest Ofsted report.
