Full Time, temporary contract of up to 12 months to cover maternity leave 

We are recruiting for an experienced A Level teacher to deliver AS and A Level Chemistry from 18 January 2019 to cover a period of maternity leave. You will be required to teach Chemistry at AS, A2, Access and BTEC level. You will also have a Personal Tutor group and deliver the Advanced Skills Challenge Certificate.

Within the role, you will perform scheduled teaching, prepare learning materials, mark students’ work, liaise with awarding bodies and exam invigilation as required. You will also be participating in the marketing, planning, assessment and evaluation of course provision. Acting as a personal tutor, you will provide educational guidance, support and counselling for all students.

As one of our Lecturers, you will also liaise with other tutors from other business areas with regard to resources, curriculum development, student reports and other related matters, whilst completing and producing the agreed deadlines documentation such as; registers, schemes of work, records of work, course review, course analysis documentation, student reports and absence reports.

We are looking for an individual who is qualified to Degree Level (or equivalent Level 6 qualification) in a relevant subject area and who holds a teaching qualification such as Cert Ed, PGCE or C&G 7407. Creative, innovative and imaginative, you will be able to develop and use a range of teaching and learning techniques and have the ability to assess the outcomes of learning and learner achievements.

With energy and enthusiasm in the learning environment, you will demonstrate an understanding of current developments within your own specialist area and be able to identify, interpret and apply specific knowledge to practice.
