Newcastle & Stafford Colleges Group is financially one of the strongest of its kind in the country with very high success rates, amongst the top 10% nationally.

In November 2016 Newcastle-under-Lyme College merged with Stafford College to form the Newcastle & Stafford Colleges Group. The group is currently home to a population of over 4,600 full-time students and around 620 students on higher education programmes. We have over 2,000 part-time or adult learners and 2,000 apprentices where we work with over 800 individual employers. Our Sixth Form provision has a reputation for high academic achievement and excellence.

Based in our Faculty of Business, we are looking for an enthusiastic, suitably qualified individual to teach business across a full range of courses including First Diploma, Extended Diploma and HND courses. As well as being an inspiring lecturer with the ability to enable all learners to reach their true potential, you will have relevant experience and ideally will hold a Level 5 teaching qualification such as the Diploma in Education and Training (formerly DTLLS) or equivalent or willingness to obtain it.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To teach Business across the full range of the department’s provision including First Diploma, Extended Diploma and HND courses.
  • to play a full part in the organisational and developmental work of the Department
  • Engage in core duties including preparation, marking, monitoring student progress, preparing reports, setting and marking of examination papers, developing and preparing flexible learning materials.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Have a first degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, or has recent and relevant industrial experience.
  • is experienced in a core field of Business such as marketing, human resource management, economics, management, law, retail, administration, supply chain management, etc. It would be advantageous to be able to deliver units in accounting and/or digital marketing
  • Has a relevant teaching qualification (DTLLS or equivalent) or willingness to train for one
  • Is well organised and able to manage the peaks and troughs of a varied workload.

Newcastle-Under-Lyme College is a mixed, non-denominational further education college in Staffordshire, serving students from the age of 16 and above. The further education college, situated in Newcastle under Lyme has approximately 3,800 full time learners on site every year, along with 2,600 part time or adult learners.

Newcastle-Under-Lyme College opened in 1986 and in 2010,  moved to a £60 million campus. In 2015, a £5.5 million performing arts centre opened, while an outdoor learning centre built the following year. The college works closely with LEGO Education to help support learners and teachers and has invested £60,000 in a LEGO Education Innovation Studio. Other facilities include The Gordon Banks Sports Centre, which features a 24 station gym, a media theatre, fashion studio and a hair and beauty training salon. In 2013 it was identified as good by Ofsted.
