The Engineering Department has experienced significant growth in our apprenticeship provision. This includes our partnership with a large manufacturing organisation in the Sheffield region; which we provide bespoke training for their apprentices in a dedicated Training Facility on their manufacturing site.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to develop their career as an Mechanical Engineering Tutor by improving the engineering provision we offer, along with developing the skills and knowledge of apprentices before they are placed into the manufacturing environment.

Although it would be an advantage to hold an assessor qualification or teaching qualification, this is not mandatory on employment to the role as the necessary training will be provided for people applying straight from industry.

The essential criteria for the role is good industry knowledge and experience, and relevant industry qualifications that relate to working with Fabrication & Welding equipment and Engineering Maintenance activities.

The role will be predominantly based on site at an employer’s training facility, but there may be some requirement to provide learning support in workshops at The Sheffield Colleges Olive Grove Campus. The college has high standards of practice that includes an expectation of professionalism, a rigorous Health and Safety policy and a commitment to safeguarding all staff and students.

You will be joining our dedicated and self-motivated engineering team, as well as providing additional knowledge and experience for the future development of a successful department.
