We have an exciting training opportunity for the right candidate to join a successful and friendly Faculty of Art & Design. This part time vacancy will suit a highly motivated graduate who wants to develop their career in teaching and gain a fully-funded teaching qualification at the same time.

This role is a mixture of technical support, instructing and lecturing. We are looking for someone with a passion for fashion and textiles and ability to communicate their enthusiasm to a varied group of learners. Comprehensive training will be provided to use and induct students in a broad range of art media and equipment. You will, with support from a mentor, oversee the fashion and textiles workshops and classrooms, and be responsible for some basic maintenance and preparation of fashion and textiles equipment.

A flexible approach and excellent organisational/interpersonal skills are required. A sound communicator, your administrative skills will be strong along with good problem solving skills. You will be an effective team player. You will need to work flexibly, including half terms and potentially one evening per week.

Candidates must be eligible to undertake the Certificate in Education. The entry requirement for the Certificate in Education is as follows:

- Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) relevant to the subject the student is planning to teach and/or relevant experience of the subject.

- Literacy qualification, Numeracy qualification and ICT skills

- Fit to teach (confirmed by DBS clearance at Enhanced Level and a suitable reference)

Successful applicants will be required to undertake an enhanced check by the DBS.
