Heartlands High School is a new mixed comprehensive 11-16 school that opened in September 2010. Popular and oversubscribed within the local community the school has 1080 students on role. Our recent Ofsted described the school as a “Leaders have been able to cultivate an ethos of focusing on the needs of individual pupils.  Pupils irrespective of their starting points, receive a range of support. Many pupils make very good progress.’’ (Ofsted 2016)

Heartlands community Trust is looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and professional individual who is able to work well under pressure. The successful candidate with hold a frist or master degree in Library and information Science and be passionate and excited to lead an effective learning resource and information service.  The Library at Heartlands supports learning and teaching across the school,  it provides a vital service to both staff and students.  The library is at the heart of our school and is highly valued by all.  Focused on reading the library is well resourced with a high book to pupil ratio and impressive borrowing figures with over 18000 book loans a year.    

The School is in the heart of Wood Green close to shops, over ground, underground and bus links.  You will be joining an energetic and dedicated team of teachers working to provide an excellent education to a group of diverse and rewarding young people. Support and development:

At Heartlands, we use School IP to track and support training and ongoing CPD. Depending on your need and level of experience, you will be placed on a training pathway.

The CPD plan is released in September each year and includes a range of internal training sessions before and after school as well as on inset days.
