About the role

The post provides a unique and exciting opportunity for a highly motivated applicant with a keen interest in children’s literature and experience in managing a library, ideally within an educational setting.

You will be responsible for the development, management, and promotion of the school library which is in its fourth year of development. The post provides an opportunity for the ideal applicant to shape the library over the next few years, as we become an all through school from early years to KS5.   You will continue to develop the Primary offer from KS1 into KS2 and expand the Secondary offer into the Sixth form.

You will play a pivotal role in the promotion of reading for pleasure, expanding links between the core curriculum and literature, improving students’ reading and developing students’ leadership skills.

Who we are looking for

·       Level 3 Qualification or equivalent

·       A strong background in managing a library within an educational setting.

·       A teaching background is desirable

·       High level of literacy, attention to detail and ability to use initiative

·       High order administrative and management skills, including planning, prioritising, enquiry handling and problem-solving abilities
