Wollaston School is a large, popular, rural community school located in a village setting about 15 minutes drive from Northampton. The student intake draws on nearby villages and the towns of Earls Barton, Wellingborough, and Irchester. We have over 1400 students on roll with approximately 240 students in the Sixth Form. The school is over-subscribed. Wollaston School was rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted in April 2017.

8:15am-4.15pm Monday to Thursday & 8.15am—3.45pm Friday
We are delighted to offer this opportunity within our dedicated support staff team here at Wollaston School. We are looking for a creative and innovative librarian and reading intervention manager. You will ideally have a degree in Librarianship or Information Management which is accredited by CILIP or equivalent, or work-based training and CILIP qualification. Librarian experience is essential, along with the ability to creatively promote the library as an integral part of our whole school literacy programme. You must possess:
- a good knowledge of literacy and reading programmes;
- the ability to teach students research and study skills;
- have good budget management skills to ensure maximum value is gained from school funds;
- the willingness to develop leadership skills in students.
It is also essential that you have the ability to motivate and enthuse the whole school community with a love for reading and utilise excellent communication skills to foster good relationships with staff and students, in order to raise the profile of literacy across the school.
