About the role: Are you a conscientious and hard-working individual? Do you work with a high level of professionalism in everything that you do? Snowfields Academy has a rare and exciting opportunity to appoint a Library Assistant (Apprenticeship) to join us in September 2022. 

Our successful candidate will be pivotal to the smooth running of the school library and office - you’ll be the first point of contact for many members of the school and external stakeholders, and will be able to turn your hand to any admin-related task that is required. Our successful candidate will also become part of the team that is developing the library to become the ‘hub of the school’, so this is a very exciting time to join our thriving academy. We are seeking an individual who will have a willingness to be flexible in the working environment, as the role will require work in the library and Reception/Main Office, and also have a passion to work within the education sector.

​​​​​​​Please be aware that this role will include working at the Bearsted and Cranbrook campus, therefore, candidates must have a driving licence. 

This role is offered as an 18-month apprenticeship contract and our successful candidate will work towards a nationally-recognised Level 3 Business Administration qualification, delivered by LAT Apprenticeships. Click here  to read more about LAT Apprenticeships.  

Apprenticeship Summary

Working weeks:  Monday - Friday throughout the full year

Total hours per week : 37 hours per week (including the 20% training element of the Apprenticeship Programme)

Holiday Allowance: 25 days per annum plus bank holidays 

Apprenticeship duration:  18 months approx.

Programme delivery type:  All modules are delivered as online learning which can be completed at your place of work

Start date: September 2022

Apprenticeship level:  Advanced Level Apprenticeship (Level 3)

Apprenticeship standard:  Business & Administration

Essential entry qualifications: GCSEs A* - C, Maths and English

Working with us at Snowfields Academy: ​​​​​​​Snowfields Academy opened in September 2020 as a new secondary provision for students with ASD. When full we will offer 140 places across year groups 7-13 for young people who are working at or close to age-related expectations. Class sizes are small with 12/13  in each class, supported by 2-3 teaching assistants according to need. We offer a range of GCSEs and other qualifications for young people on a blend of academic and vocational pathways.

The academy benefits from being a brand new school with a design tailored to the students it provides for, carefully considered to make the most of both its inside and outside environments in order to enhance the learning of its students. The environment supports specialisms in horticulture and catering with a purpose-designed teaching kitchen, servery and cafe, and internal and external horticulture facilities supporting our students into employment. We will work closely with local businesses to offer an outstanding range of work experience opportunities and supported internships.​​​​​​​
