About the school

Potterspury Lodge School is growing following successful residential and education Ofsted reports. We are working towards outstanding and are looking for an enthusiastic teacher to support our fabulous students to achieve their personal best. In this role you will:

  • Be accountable for the standards of teaching and learning and pupil progress in Literacy throughout the school.
  • Develop daily activates to build and ground literacy with students.
  • Lead, manage and develop Literacy throughout the school.
  • Manage a team ensuring best practice across identified areas of the curriculum.
  • Develop the use of ICT to support and enhance teaching and learning.
  • Exercise professional skills and judgement.
  • Impact on the educational progress of all pupils in the school.
  • Lead, develop and enhance the classroom practice of teaching staff and teaching assistants.
  • Take responsibility for the development and implementation of the whole school policy for Literacy.

We're looking for people who have:

  • No criminal record including convictions, cautions, reprimands, bindings over or warnings which may be relevant to the safety and welfare of students/residents or staff.
  • A recognised qualification relevant to the subject areas to be taught.
  • A PGCE or equivalent and QTS (if not held be willing to achieve this within 2 years of appointment).
  • A current car driving licence with no disqualifications or serious offences within past 3 years.
  • Experience of working effectively with learners who experience difficulties similar to those experienced by students at this establishment.
  • Experience of working effectively as part of a team.
  • Experience of planning, delivering and assessing learning activities appropriate to individual’s needs and abilities.
  • Experience of working successfully in situations which draw heavily on the ability to deal with difficult pressures and personal challenges.
